Expo 2010 preview

Thanks to my new friend Claus (photo below) who is in charge of the Danish pavillion, we (Jim, Jean-Wei, Monica and myself) were given a tour of the Expo 2010 site yesterday.
It brought back a lot of memories from the Expo 2000 in Hanover.
There are a lot of similarities but this one will be on a greater scale by the looks of it…
Hard to believe there are only 12 working weeks to go before the opening. Plenty to be done still but nevertheless it is taking shape quite nicely…
Thank you again Claus also to have allowed us inside the Danish pavillion…
… and show us where the bar will be.
I look forward to ride my bicycle in there in May.

Trouble free flight, long and boring though… Anyway back in Shanghai, trying to warm up the appartment. I guess the best is to go out for a while and see who is around.

1st day of 2010

It snowed lightly practically the whole day adding a few inches to the existing layer…
Started the year the usual way… all you need is an improvised “ice bar”
A venue (it is always the same one i.e Armin’s drive) and a start signal at sharp 1pm (nothing works better than a remaining firework from the previous evening) …
and they all arrive one by one…
soon there is a full house…
a few gallons of mulled wine, shots of Rum and plenty of Tequilas later… time to retire to bed for a 15 hours sleep…
