America’s cup

It has been a long 4 years, but Alinghi did win today the 32nd America’s Cup.
Well done. And that means the Cup remains in Europe. In 4 years time I shall be there for sure. Anyone wanting to join me?

Sailing in the Baltic sea

Just back from a few days sailing in the Baltic. The plan was to go from Lübeck to Copenhagen. The boat (a Bavaria)belongs to Joerg & Heidrun.
Sailing in the Baltic requires a fair amount of planning…
It is nice when the weather is fine…
Unfortunately we encountered a couple of technical problems when we reached Denmark so we spent the day there during which we had to winch Joerg up the mast 3 times to check and see what could be fixed (I still have sore muscles)…
Lovely view from up there apparently…
also took the opportunity to visit the island and the country side…
There is nothing like watching the sunset sitting on a boat…
But in the end we had to return to Germany to get some professional help.
Made it nevertheless to Copenhagen by train. I am glad to see that the little mermaid is still there…
The old Copenhagen is still a very nice place to sit around for a drink and watch the world go by

Sailing plans this coming June

Update Feb 14th
Return flight from Copenhagen has been booked. Let us hope the winds are favorable and we get there in time… This is a non-refundable ticket. lol
Feb 11th
So it looks like June will be even busier this year. After Le Mans, the plan is to go sailing and make it from Germany to Copenhagen. Of course we shall sail on Joerg’s “Bavaria” and we shall both celebrate our birthdays on the high seas or in a nice place on the way.
Plenty of time to plan but I am quite interested in the route. Need to work on that a bit.
